Western Australia is definitely worth a trip for anyone who feels like going to Australia. The emerging tourist region of Western Australia spans a third of Australia’s total land area. Most places worth seeing are in a wonderful color spectrum, and you can experience an obvious starry sky at night.
A trip through Western Australia is an extraordinary experience and should be experienced in stages. Therefore, this tour is a continuous overland trip between Perth and Darwin. Its length is about 8000 km, including the side roads and the tour through the southwest. With a minibus with a maximum of 14 seats, the number of participants is limited and manageable, making maximum flexibility possible. That is the only way to perceive and experience the sequence of numerous unique attractions, including the World Heritage Sites. Our tour is deliberately carried out in the climatically dry season since pleasant temperatures prevail throughout the Australian winter and spring. In September, the wildflowers can also be seen in full bloom. For climatic reasons, we hold the second appointment immediately afterwards in the opposite direction, starting in Darwin and ending in Perth. However, weather-related changes in the travel itinerary must always be expected, especially in the tropical north. We offer an Australia program for everyone who wants to experience Australia in its diversity, vastness, infinity, and originality. On request, you can participate in a six-day additional program in the country’s extreme southwest.
You can expect consistently good roads – exceptions are possible – and a long, intensive driving program with regular breaks. Overnight stays are in local hotels, motels, chalets, park homes, and comfortable safari tents. The cheapest meal options are outside the hotels, so only the daily breakfast is included. Drivers and tour guides will know what is right for them. Nevertheless, it makes sense to bring a lot of perseverance, willingness to help, comradeship and willingness to guarantee the success of this extraordinary, multifaceted journey.

- The maximum number of participants is 14, the minimum is 8. Otto Tours Australia guarantees the departure from 8 participants. With less, it is only possible by arrangement.
- Modern minibus with air conditioning, seat belts, German-speaking driver-guide, luggage tag if necessary
- 6 nights, including 4 in double rooms with double bed or two separate beds. One accommodation is in a fully furnished cabin on the Eighty Mile Beach with 2 separate bedrooms for up to four guests. Two people move into one bedroom within the travel community but share the bathroom and living room. Suppose the cabin is desired for a couple alone. In that case, this can be organized at an additional cost. One accommodation is a safari tent with beds and a private wet room.
- Daily breakfast (English B). If not available, there is a breakfast basket or roadhouse snack. No other meals (except Tom Price) but always advice and help with organization on request.
- Study and adventure tour with a focus on untouched and remote natural wonders, wild animals, indigenous people, sensational places, mountains, beaches, real outback, typical Australia.

Day 1: Broome
F – Free day on the beautiful ocean coast: Aboriginal people, pearl fishing, the OK sandy Cable Beach. 3-hour city tour (optional)
Day 2: Broome – Fitzroy Crossing
B – Now we head east. In Derby, we see the giant Kimberley Prison Boab tree. In the evening, we are in Fitzroy Crossing. Before that, we stop at the imposing Devonian Reef and the abstract Ngumban Ranges. The property is located at the mighty Fitzroy River.
Day 3: Fitzroy Crossing – Kimberleys – Kununurra
B – We take a boat trip through the Geikie Gorge early in the morning. Afterwards, we drive to the notorious town of Halls Creek. We continue along the eastern edge of the lonely and wildly romantic Kimberley region to Kununurra and stay 2 nights.
Day 4: Kununurra – Bungle Bungle
B – Early morning scenic flight over Lake Argyle, the Argyle diamond mine and the very impressive Bungle Bungles. Later in the day, it’s historic Ivanhoe Crossing.
Day 5: Kununurra – Katherine
B – On the Victoria Highway – across the border to the Northern Territory – it goes to Katherine. We pass semi-arid areas of steppes that alternate with long mountain ranges. That is later densely forested.
Day 6: Katherine Gorge – Darwin
B – Visit the Nitmiluk National Park on a boat trip in the gorge. Lunch at Edith Falls. Then, on the Stuart Highway to Darwin.
Day 7: Darwin
B – After breakfast, a short city tour, then, private stay or return

Day 1: Arrival in Darwin

Day 2: Darwin
Katherine Gorge B – Short city tour in Darwin. Then it’s on the Stuart Highway to Katherine. Stay at Edith Falls, with bathing facilities.
Day 3: Katherine – Kununurra
B – Visit Nitmiluk National Park on a boat trip in two gorges. The Victoria Highway leads to the Western Australian border and Kununurra. Along mountain ranges, initially densely wooded, alternate with semi-arid steppe areas.
Day 4: Bungle Bungle – Kununurra
B – Early morning flight over Lake Argyle, the Argyle diamond mine and the very impressive Bungle Bungles. Later in the day, it’s historic Ivanhoe Crossing. Part of the day is free. Four-hour sightseeing tour (optional)
Day 5: Kununurra – Kimberley – Fitzroy Crossing

Day 6: Fitzroy Crossing – Broome

In Derby, we see the most massive Kimberley Prison Boab tree. In the evening, we are in Broome, the Baden Baden of Western Australia, and the pearl farming centre, and we stay for two nights.

B – Free day at leisure on the beautiful ocean coast: Aboriginal people, pearl fishing, and the spectacular sandy Cable Beach. 3-hour city tour (optional)
